Mercedes Stolen In Darien As Owner Talks On Phone With Police A Mercedes-Benz was stolen in Fairfield County as the owner was on the phone with the police reporting the crime. The incident took place in Darien around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 on Pear Tree Point Road. According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police, the owner of the vehicle called the police to report there was a vehicle burglary in progress. Robert Oxer Sr., age 71, of Darien, is facing charges of operating under the influence and failure to drive right in the Sunday, Oct. 10, incident, according to the Darien Police Department. Darien Police say they responded to the area of Pear Tree Point Road on a report of an altercation on Thursday, July 25 around 12:15 a.m. Upon arrival, police say they observed a man running from a vehicle in the driveway.
