Fourth Tornado Touchdown From Severe Storms Confirmed In Connecticut
Officials have confirmed that a fourth tornado touched down in Connecticut during the severe round of storms on Saturday, Nov. 13. The fourth tornado, in Windham County, in the Town of Plainfield, was confirmed as an EF0, (the weakest of the six levels on the Enhanced Fujita Scale), as a powerful storm swept across the state, said Accu Weather Senior Meteorologist Paul Walker. Walker said the tornado traveled for a six-mile path with winds that could have reached up to 100 mph. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued; Damaging Winds, Lightning Expected, Hail, Tornadoes Possible
With a line of potentially strong storms moving toward the region, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire region. It's in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21. It was issued at 12:30 p.m. The storms will bring damaging wind gusts, the weather service said. Lightning is also expected and hail is possible. The start of spring is just a week away but the active winter season of 2020-21 doesn't appear to want to go out quietly.
