Metro-North May Raise Parking Fees At Some Stations Parking may be getting a bit costlier for Metro-North riders. The MTA is reviewing a proposal to increase fees at 25 station parking facilities that are controlled by the railroad. It would impact riders east of the Hudson River, including the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines. Permit holders for 16-hour parking would pay an average of $42.75 annually, approximately 12 cents a day. Customers who use daily meters will pay an average of $14.17 more monthly, with the meters increasing by 50 to 75 cents for 16-hour parking. Flammable Materials In Car Explode Near Metro-North Station Two Metro-North employees were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after flammable materials being stored in an employee’s personal, private vehicle exploded. The incident took place around 1 p.m.Friday in the parking lot of Metro-North’s North White Plains Yard, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for the MTA.   MTA Police are investigating the cause.  There was no train involved and there is no impact to Metro-North train service.

ID Released For Teen Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train A Valhalla teen has been identified as the young man struck and killed by a Metro-North train in Valhalla just north of Commerce Street, according to the MTA. Aaron Dannenbring, 19, was on the tracks around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by the northbound train, said MTA Spokeswoman Nancy Gamerman.
