New Superintendent To Take Command At North Salem Central School District After an extensive search, a school district in Northern Westchester has named its next superintendent.  Duncan Wilson has been selected as the new Superintendent of the North Salem Central School District and will take over the position on Saturday, July 1, district officials announced.  Wilson will take over the position from Ken Freeston, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.  Wilson comes to North Salem from the Ardsley Union Free School District, where he was assistant superintendent. North Salem High School, Middle School Closed Due To Water Supply Issues Two schools at a district in Northern Westchester are closed due to water supply issues. North Salem High School and Middle School are both closed on Monday, May 16. The district office is also closed, the North Salem Central School District said. Covid-19: North Salem School District Goes Remote After Positive Cases A school district in Northern Westchester has closed for in-person learning for two weeks due to COVID-19 cases. The North Salem Central School District said on Monday, Nov. 16. that it learned of two cases at the North Salem High School/Middle School as well as two other cases at Pequenakonck Elementary School. Therefore, the district's schools will move to remote learning until Monday, Nov. 30th due to a staffing shortage.
