Person Injured During Carjacking In Fairfield County, Police Say Police in Fairfield County are investigating a carjacking that left one person injured. It happened around 8:35 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, in Bridgeport. A Bridgeport police officer was on his way to a vehicle crash when he was flagged down by a citizen at Fairfield Avenue and Norman Street reporting an assault, said Scott Appleby, director of the city's emergency management. ID Released For Middle-Age Man Found Dead On Fairfield County Sidewalk Police have identified a middle-aged man who was found dead on a sidewalk in Fairfield County. James McClain, age 58, of Waterbury, was found around 11:48 p.m., Friday, March 19 after officers responded to the intersection of Norman Street and Railroad Avenue in Bridgeport on the report of an unresponsive party. Emergency personnel located McClain lying on the sidewalk at 34 Norman St., Bridgeport PD Capt. Kevin Gilleran said. Man Found Shot To Death While Driving Vehicle In Fairfield County A man was shot to death while driving his vehicle in Fairfield County. The victim was discovered around 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, when police responded to a report of gunshots fired near 644 Norman Street. Responding officers located a motor vehicle accident in front of 178 Wood Ave., Bridgeport PD Captain Brian Fitzgerald said. The driver of the involved vehicle was unconscious, and officers had to break the window of the vehicle to gain access, Fitzgerald said. Man Shot In Head In Bridgeport Man Shot In Head In Bridgeport
Man Shot In Head In Bridgeport Police are investigating a shooting in which a male victim was shot in the head in Bridgeport. Police spokesman Av Harris said St. Vincent Medical Center officials notified police that a gunshot wound victim had been dropped off. They have since determined that the shooting place at Norman and Atwater streets. There was no immediate information about the victim’s condition, Harris said. This is a developing story.
