Expect Delays: Lane Closures Scheduled On Busy Area Roadway Construction involving lanes closures will cause delays on a busy roadway in Northern Westchester on Saturday, Feb. 16. The work will be done on Route 117 near Roaring Brook Road in Chappaqua from 9 a.m to 6 p.m., New Castle Police said. Description Released Of Northern Westchester Home Invasion Suspect Police have provided a description of a female suspect in a home invasion that occurred in broad daylight in Northern Westchester on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at a home on Pond Hill Road in Chappaqua when the woman unlawfully entered an occupied residence with what appeared to be a firearm and stole property, New Castle Police said.  The suspect is described as a very pale white female. New Black Bear Sighting: This One Is A Real Night Owl There have been no shortage of black bear sightings throughout the area of late. Nearly all, though, have come during the day. But this weekend, we have received word of a bear who's a real night owl - so to speak. A family in Dutchess County tells us the bear has made back-to-back evening visits the last two days. A large black bear interrupted them as they were fertilizing their lawn in Putnam County. After taking cover inside their home on North Knapp Court, they watched and took the above videos and photos of the unexpected visitor. Before retreating back into the woods, the bear knocked over a wheelbarrow and helped itself to a 40-pound bag of fertilizer, which it carried in its mouth as it made its exit.
