Firefighter Falls Through Floor While Battling Blaze At North Salem Home
A firefighter fell through a floor during the response to a blaze at a Northern Westchester residence. The blaze began on Tuesday, Oct. 29 inside the laundry room at a North Salem home on Nash Road, according to the Croton Falls Fire Department. Arriving fire crews soon began dousing the flames with hose lines and started making their way inside. However, while firefighters were battling the blaze inside, one member fell through the floor, prompting a mayday transmission. Major Brush Fire In NY Spreads Smoke Into Fairfield County
A major brush fire over at least a dozen acres in the Hudson Valley produced smoke that spread across the New York border into Connecticut. The blaze broke out at around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Putnam County in the area of Route 301 and East Boyds Road in the town of Kent and was finally contained late in the day on Sunday, Oct. 27. Truck Driver Treated At Danbury Hospital After Rollover Crash In Mahopac
The driver of a dump truck was hospitalized after a rollover crash that brought down a pole and power lines in Mahopac on Wednesday. The still-energized 13,000-volt wires above the wreck on Long Pond Road near Pleasant Road prevented first-responders from approaching or removing the loan driver from the truck, said Tom Beatty of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department.
