Three Injured In Route 6 Head-On Crash Involving Car, SUV, Box Truck Three people received non-life-threatening injuries in a head-on crash on Route 6 in Somers that shut down traffic for almost two hours. The crash, which included a car, an SUV, and a box truck, happened shortly before 7 a.m. Friday near the Northern Westchester/Putnam border. Three people were cared for and transported to Westchester Medical Center by the Somers Fire Department, the fire department said. Route 6 Reopens After Head-On Crash Click here for an updated story: Three Injured In Route 6 Head-On Crash Involving Car, SUV, Box Truck A stretch of Route 6 near the Northern Westchester/Putnam border has reopened Friday morning following a head-on crash with multiple injuries reported. The closure was between Mahopac Avenue in Somers and Windsor Road in Yorktown following the 7:20 a.m. crash. Eastbound traffic was diverted to Route 6N, westbound traffic used Mahopac Avenue to Route 202/35 during the closure of about an hour-and-a-half. This continues to be a developing story.
