A nationwide recall has been issues for a popular brand of milk due to an allergy risk.
HP Hood LLC is recalling 96-ounce containers of Lactaid Milk because the product may contain trace amounts of almond, which is not listed on the label.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, according to an announcement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Connecticut continues to rank among the top 20 best states in the country.
The Constitution State came in at No. 20 – down slightly from No. 16 last year – on the 2024 Best States list by U.S. News & World Report, released Tuesday, May 7.
Rankings were determined using 71 metrics across eight categories, including fiscal stability, infrastructure, education, health care, and the economy. Data was pulled from national surveys taken by nearly 70,000 people.

New Ranking Reveals Top 50 Restaurants Nationwide
Fifty restaurants nationwide have been selected by The New York Times as "restaurants we love most in 2022."
The selections include eateries from Portland, Maine to Eastsound in Washington State, and include restaurants in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, among other states, including two in Nashville, Tennessee, and two in Coral Gables, Florida.
The list was published on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Baby Giant Anteater Born At Fairfield County’s Beardsley Zoo
For the third time in zoo history, a giant anteater has been born at the Beardsley Zoo in Fairfield County.
The baby was born at the Bridgeport zoo on Tuesday, June 15 after a 175-day gestation period, the baby weighed 4.3 pounds at nine days old, and 6.1 pounds at 23 days old on Thursday, July 8, said Beardsley Zoo officials.
The proud parents are third-time dad, E.O., and fourth-time mom, Pana.
The pair was brought to Connecticut’s only zoo with the hopes of successful breeding, which occurred for the first time in 2016.

Covid-19: First Sitting Member Of Congress Dies From Virus
The first sitting member of Congress has died from COVID-19.
Rep. Ron Wright, a Republican representing the sixth district in Texas, had been hospitalized for two weeks before his death on Sunday, Feb. 6. He was 67 years old.
He had been undergoing treatment for lung cancer, which was diagnosed in 2018, the same year he was elected to Congress.
Wright is survived by his wife, Susan, who has also been hospitalized with COVID-19 for the last two weeks.
