Quite A Crowd Expected At Greater Danbury Half Marathon, 5K Races A large turnout is expected Sunday, April 8 for the annual Greater Danbury Half Marathon and 5K race, which will begin at 9:15 a.m.  The half marathon will begin at Roger's Park. (Turn onto South Street then onto Mountainville Avenue.) The race proceeds onto Mountainville towards Long Ridge Road then onto Reservoir Road and enters into Bethel.  Runners will re-enter Danbury on Long Ridge Road to Mountainville Avenue and ends back at Roger's Park. Expect traffic delays while the race is on.

Two Injured In Car Rollover, Explosion In Danbury DANBURY, Conn. — Two people were sent to the hospital with burns after a car rolled over and exploded early Saturday in Danbury, according to fire officials. The Danbury Fire Department A shift companies were dispatched to the area of 167 Long Ridge Road at around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday for a report of a motor vehicle accident with an explosion. Units arrived to find a car totally engulfed in flames. There were two occupants on the scene with burns, and they were taken to the Western Connecticut Health Network ER for treatment. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Two Injured In Car Explosion Overnight Near Danbury-Ridgefield Border DANBURY, Conn. — Two people who suffered burns in a car explosion overnight in Danbury were sent to the hospital for treatment, fire officials said.   A car rolled over, exploded and was destroyed by fire in an accident at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday near 167 Long Ridge Road, said James Gagliardo, public information officer for the Danbury Fire Department.
