Man Clinging To Kayak For Half-Hour Rescued On Long Island Sound A man who clung to a capsized kayak for more than 30 minutes on the Long Island Sound was rescued, police say. Darien Police say they responded via police boat to the area of Long Neck Point on a report of a kayaker who had possibly capsized on Friday, Sept. 13 around 10:45 a.m. The man who made the report allegedly told police that he had gone kayaking with his adult son but had lost sight of him in the area.
