Tornado Touch Down Confirmed In NY
A tornado touched down in the Hudson Valley region during a round of isolated, severe thunderstorms earlier this week.The National Weather Service in New York announced on Saturday morning, July 16 that a storm survey conducted in eastern Ulster County found that damage that occurred west of Kingston on Wednesday, July 13 was the result of both a macroburst (straight line winds) as well as an EF-1 tornado. Denise Marie Martabano Lupia (nee Edman) of Winter Park, FL passed away peacefully with a smile on her face on February 21, 2022 with her husband David Lupia by her side. She was 63 years old. She was born in Kingston, NY on July 1, 1958 to Donald and Noel Edman. Denise was the eldest of five children and grew up in Katonah. Three Fairfield County Residents Charged With DWI In New York Stops
Nearly three dozen area residents were arrested by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley. Local residents charged include: Westchester County On Friday, Dec. 20, State Police from Brewster arrested Michael A. Verella, 44, of Somers, for DWI. He was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Kingston High School graduate Zack Short was protected by the Chicago Cubs this week, being added to the team's elite 40-man roster. Less than a month after announcing it planned to close 182 outlets, another 200 Toys 'R' Us stores may also be closing, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday. The total of near 400 closures would be 45 percent of the toy retailer's total number of stores.
