A man who allegedly robbed a Connecticut bank was located out-of-state and arrested, police announced. On Friday, Sept. 1, the Connecticut State Police announced the arrest of 38-year-old Robert Doyle for the Tolland County robbery that occurred nearly a month before. According to police, on Friday, Aug. 4 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Doyle robbed the Key Bank located at 6 Storrs Road in Mansfield. Suspect Nabbed After Fairfield County Bank Robbery, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly robbing an area bank. The incident took place in Fairfield at the Key Bank on Post Road around noon on Wednesday, Aug. 25. The suspect was described as a white male who reportedly pointed what looked like a handgun at tellers demanding money, said Capt. Antonio Granata of the Fairfield Police Department. After getting the cash, he fled the bank and was seen entering a gray taxi last seen heading north on Mill Plain Road. A Connecticut man is facing two decades behind bars after admitting to robbing three banks. New Haven resident Vincent Jones, 50, pleaded guilty on Friday, Feb. 1 to one count of bank robbery at U.S. district court in Bridgeport. Jones admitted to attempting to rob the Key Bank on Main Street in East Haven; robbing Webster Bank on Boston Post Road in Orange of $5,469 on July 31, 2017, and robbing the Bank of America located on Boston Post Road in Milford of $6,578 on Aug. 8 last year. Caught: Suspect In Bank Robbery Apprehended, Shelton Police Say
Shelton Police were able to snatch a bank robber within two days with the help of the public. The department had put out several photos of the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Michael Mangiafico of Seymour after he allegedly robbed the Key Bank in Shelton on Monday. Shelton Police and detectives, with help from the Seymour Police Department, arrested Mangiafico on Wednesday and charged him with robbery and larceny, said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky. Shelton Police Looking To Identify Bank Robbery Suspect
Shelton Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who robbed a Key Bank on Monday. The robbery took place around 10 a.m. Monday at the bank located at 794 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent. According to Nugent, the man walked into the bank and passed a teller a note demanding money and implying he had a weapon, he said. No one was injured during the incident. Anyone that may information regarding the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact the police department at 203-924-1544. All call will be kept confidential.

A Fairfield County man who threatened to kill bank employees during an armed robbery and later engaged in a standoff with police has been sentenced to nearly a decade behind bars following his seven-month crime spree. Bryce Alexander Laister, 26, formerly of Bridgeport and Stratford, has been sentenced to 107 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after he pleaded guilty to robbing five Connecticut banks between November 2016 and June 2017. A 33-year-old Waterbury man was sentenced to eight years in federal prison in connection with a multi-state armed robbery spree. A Bridgeport man used weapons and murder threats to rob five Connecticut banks over the span of nearly a year, according to the John Durham, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. The Fairfield Police Department has released surveillance photos of a suspect that allegedly robbed a local bank on Wednesday morning. Detectives from the department are investigating a robbery that took place at Key Bank on Post Road at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
