Man Who Pulls Off Merritt Parkway Caught With Loaded BB Gun, Police Say A routine traffic stop led to a weapons charge for a 20-year-old who ran a red light with a BB gun in the back seat in New Canaan. An officer from the New Canaan Police Department on patrol at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning spotted a vehicle traveling off exit 36 of the Merritt Parkway fail to obey a red light, turning right without making a complete stop before turning south onto Old Stamford Road, prompting the traffic stop.
