2 Burglary Suspects Nabbed After Roof-Top Standoff With Stamford Police Police captured two Fairfield County men after a two-and-half-hour standoff on the roof of a restaurant they allegedly broke into.  The incident occurred in Stamford at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, on the roof of Hugo's Tacos on Stillwater Avenue. According to Stamford Police Assistant Chief Richard Conklin, the restaurant's owner was alerted to the break-in when he received notice of the burglar alarms going off. Felon Caught With Gun In Stamford Park Police nabbed a convicted felon for possession of a gun and drugs after receiving a tip that he would be at a Stamford park. Travis Vanterpool-Gordon, 22, of Stamford, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of a hallucinogen, criminal possession of a gun and interfering with police following a search on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., according to Capt. Richard Conklin.
