Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 8:57 a.m. Tuesday, southbound near Exit 5 in the town of Meriden. The crash occurred when the driver, identified as Alexander Tenore, of Waterbury, lost control, hit a wire guardrail and ended up 60-feet down an embankment, state police said. On Tuesday, Aug. 21, an injured red-tailed hawk was found at a residence near the exit 4 ramp on I-691 and West Main Street in Meriden. The bird was taken to the Kensington Bird and Animal Hospital, where an x-ray found that a metal pellet had been embedded in its left wing, causing it to bring the ulna bone, police said.
