Sign Upgrade Projects Start On I-84 Corridor, Including I-684, I-287 Some major roadways are getting a facelift, as the New York State Department of Transportation kicks off a pair of projects. NYSDOT acting Commissioner Paul Karas announced on Thursday that they’ve begun installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment on area roadways.  The second project includes upgrading existing guide signs on I-84 from the Pennsylvania state line in Orange County to the Connecticut state line in Putnam County.
