Woman Steals Victim's Wallet At Whole Foods In Fairfield County: Suspect At Large, Police Say Police are searching for a woman who was caught on video stealing a wallet from a victim's purse at a Whole Foods grocery store in Fairfield County.  The incident happened on Sunday, April 30 around 3:15 p.m., when police responded to the Whole Foods Market in Darien at 150 Ledge Rd. on a report of a stolen wallet, according to Darien Police Sgt. Alert Issued For Phony Amazon Callers, Emails Seeking Info Con artists are calling and emailing Amazon users and attempting to obtain their log in information and credit card number by posing as Amazon employees.  According to the Better Business Bureau, victims are met with a recorded message claiming to be from Amazon, notifying them of problems with their Amazon account ranging from supposed fraudulent charges on Amazon Prime cards to damaged packages to unfulfilled orders that the victim never placed.  The callers are reportedly using phone numbers of reputable organizations--like the Better Business Bureau--to lend them credibility. …

Darien Woman Loses $17,000 In Social Security Scam Call, Police Say Police are investigating after a woman says she lost $17,000 in a Social Security scam call. Darien Police say they received a report about a fraudulent call on Friday, July 26 around 10:45 a.m. The victim allegedly stated that she had received a call at her Parklands Drive residence from a man identifying himself as "Christopher Greenburg."
