Person Burned After Cell Phone Battery Began 'Violently Burning' In CT One person was burned after a cell phone battery caught fire, causing a Connecticut apartment building to be evacuated. The incident took place in Hartford County around 9:40 p.m., Tuesday, March 14 at the Carousel Apartment Building in East Windsor. According to the Warehouse Point Fire Department, firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at the building. At approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, the 911 dispatch center received a call reporting smoke coming from the roof of the building near Forest and Grove streets, the Stamford Fire Department said. The first arriving engine reported heavy smoke and fire visible on the top floor of the condominium unit at 104 Forest St. The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm.
