For coyotes, February marks the beginning of mating season, which lasts between four and six weeks, peaking late in the month and early in March, according to animal experts, who noted that it varies year-to-year depending on weather, prey, quantity, and other mitigating factors. 'Large Coyote' Spotted In Lewisboro: Find Out When, Where A large coyote was spotted making the rounds in Northern Westchester.  The latest coyote sighting in Westchester came from a South Salem resident, who saw the "good-sized" animal making the rounds on the Lewisboro Elementary School property on Bouton Road in South Salem at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal I-287 Crash The man who was killed Tuesday night in a crash on I-287 has been identified. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver of a box truck, John P. Riofrio, 48, of New York City, was traveling eastbound on I-287 when he collided with another vehicle at around 7:33 p.m. between Exits 9A and 10 in Harrison on the eastbound side, state police said. After the collision, Riofrio then lost control of his truck and traveled off the roadway over the southern shoulder and through the guide rail, according to police.
