New Canaan Contractor Failed To Finish Work On Home After Receiving $650K, Darien Police Say A contractor in Fairfield County is facing charges after allegedly being paid $650,000 for work on a home renovation he never finished, police said. A homeowner reported to police in Darien that Thomas Faucher, of New Canaan, had been given “a large sum of money” for his business to perform renovations at his home in May last year. In October, the man stated that the work began to slow and Faucher told him that he needed more money to continue. Following the second payment, the homeowner said he had paid a total of $650,000.
