Winter Weather Advisory: Storm Bringing Snow, Sleet Will Cause Slippery Evening Commute
A winter storm affecting more than 200 million Americans will sweep through the area, bringing accumulating snow and sleet and causing slippery travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire region from noon Wednesday, Feb. 20 until 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze are expected. (See image above.) Round Of Snow Could Make For Slippery Morning Commute
Click here for an updated story: Round Of Snow Now Expected To Arrive Earlier A fast-moving, widespread clipper system will bring light accumulating snow to the region that could make for a slippery commute on Thursday morning, Jan. 3. Wednesday, Jan. 2 will be partly sunny with a high in the upper-30s and a wind-chill factor between 30 and 35 degrees. I-95 Crash Causes Stop-Go Delays
This story has been updated. There were stop-and-go delays on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County during the Thursday evening commute following a crash that blocked the right lane. The northbound crash occurred between Wordin Avenue (Exit 26) in Bridgeport and Route 8/25 (Exit 27A) with gridlock stretching back to Round Hill Road (Exit 22) in Fairfield before the lane reopened around 6 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

I-684 Crash With Injuries Causes Delays
This story has been updated. A serious crash with multiple injuries caused gridlock on a stretch of I-684 during much of the Tuesday evening commute. The northbound crash occurred at the merger to the Saw Mill River Parkway in Bedford, with delays to Route 172 (Exit 4).

Snow Showers Will Be Followed By Heavy Rain, Chance Of Flooding
There could be some slick conditions during the Friday evening commute with light snow and snow showers now falling in parts of the area.Little or no accumulation is expected. A new storm system will move through the area late Saturday afternoon through Sunday night, but temperatures will be warm enough -- in the upper 40s during the day and lower 40s at night -- to ensure all rain will fall. Overnight Snow Could Make For Slick Morning Commute
This story has been updated. A changeover of rain to snow overnight could make roads slick during the Friday morning commute. Rain will change to a wintry mix around midnight, followed by snow showers and snow as the overnight low dips to the mid-20s. An inch or less of accumulation is possible. The chance for snow will end around 9 a.m. Friday. Skies will gradually clear with some sun in the afternoon and a high temperature struggling to reach the freezing mark.
