CT Man Struck By Lightning As Severe Storms Roared Through Region A 34-year-old Connecticut man was struck by lightning as several severe thunderstorms ripped through the area. The incident occurred in New London County around 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, on Orchard Farms Road in Colchester. According to Colchester Fire Chief Steve Hoffmann, crews responded to the home and found the man "conscious and alert" but suffering from chest pains.
