Fatal Explosion At Connecticut VA Hospital Kills 2, Injures 3 Two people were killed and another three were injured after a steam pipe exploded at a Connecticut veterans hospital.  The explosion took place at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, according to reporting by Channel 3 Eyewitness News,  the West Haven Veteran's Hospital on Campbell Avenue.  The men who died were a contractor from Mulvaney Mechanical and a VA employee. Soulemane Murbarak,19, of New Haven, was shot and killed on Wednesday, Jan. 15, following a pursuit, first with Norwalk police and then state police, said the Connecticut State Police. State police said the incident that led to the shooting began around 4:30 p.m. when the Norwalk Police broadcast an alert for a stolen vehicle they had attempted to stop following a carjacking and disturbance at a store. Man Admits To Robbing West Haven Bank A Connecticut convict with weapon and burglary convictions has admitted to robbing a West Haven bank last year. New Haven resident Malcolm Lytell, 65, pleaded guilty in New Haven district court on Friday, March 8 to one count of bank robbery dating back to an incident last year at the TD Bank on Campbell Avenue in West Haven. On Dec. 21 last year, Lytell, donning a hooded jacket, dark gloves and a mask covering most of his face, entered the bank. He then provided a teller with a black bad and note demanded cash. College Student Fan Bus En Route To Ivy League Football Game At Yale Bowl Crashes Off I-95 Exit A coach-style bus carrying Princeton football student fans to the Yale Bowl for the Ivy League game crashed after exiting the northbound I-95 ramp in West Haven on Saturday. Campbell Avenue was closed for several hours after the crash at Exit 43. The bus, which was carrying about three dozen people, crossed the intersection without stopping and continued onto the property of Anderson Glass where it came to a stop after colliding with a structure located in the parking lot, West Haven Police said.
