Obey The Law And You Could Win Gift Card From Stamford Police The Stamford Police Department is handing out gift cards to pedestrians. All you have to do is follow the law. Police officers will be rewarding pedestrians who obey safety laws with a $10 gift card to Acme markets. Nearly two dozen verbal warnings to pedestrians and three verbal warnings to drivers were issued at the intersections of Broad and Summer streets on Tuesday.  The Acme on High Ridge Road donated $1,000 worth of cards to Stamford police and fire departments for the initiative.

Three Drunk Drivers Nabbed In One Night In Stamford, Police Say Stamford Police had a busy night Friday arresting three driving for operating under the influence within six hours, including two at the same location.The action began around 9:45 p.m. when working with the OUI team, Capt. Diedrich Hoh and Officer Damien Rosa arrested Jorge Eyssen, 57, for driving on the wrong side of the road on West Main Street,  Hohn said.  Once stopped, Hohn said Eyssen "reeked of alcohol" and failed all the field sobriety test, and once at headquarters, he refused to take additional tests.
