Sinking Boat With 5 Passengers Rescued By Greenwich Police Marine Unit
A boat that was taking on water with five passengers aboard was rescued by a Fairfield County police marine unit. The incident took place in Greenwich near Great Captain Island, on Long Island Sound on Saturday, Aug. 19, when the vessel ran into trouble. Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police said the department's Marine Section 139 located the boat. They deployed dewatering pumps and towed the vessel to Beacon Point Marine to be lifted out of the water. The boat was saved and none of the five onboard were injured, Smyth said. Five Rescued From Water After Boat Hits Rocks Off Fairfield County Coast
Five people aboard a boat in distress were rescued off the coast of Fairfield County. Just before 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, marine units in Bridgeport responded to the boat off the Penfield Lighthouse. "Preliminary reports indicated that all parties were in the water due to their boat hitting the rocks," said Scott Appleby, the City of Bridgeport's Director of the Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security/Emergency Communications. Nine Rescued From Boat Taking On Water In Fairfield County
Nine people on a boat that was taking on water were rescued in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Westport during the evening of Tuesday, June 29, when Westport Police receive word of the emergency. Westport Marine officers responded to the scene, but upon arrival found the boat's occupants had been assisted by a passing boat. The officers took over the scene and helped retrieve the boat, which was sinking. No injuries were reported.

Five Rescued After Passenger Boat Strikes Rock Jetty
Five people were rescued after a passenger boat became disabled after it struck a rock jetty in Fairfield County. At approx. 6.30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Stratford Fire Dispatch received a 911 call reporting the incident on the Housatonic River. A second 911 call said that the 28-foot vessel carrying five people had run aground and was up on the rocks, said Stratford Fire Department-Fire Marshal's Office Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal Robert Daniel said.
