A beloved longtime Fairfield County pastor died suddenly this week at the age of 68. Msgr. Walter C. Orlowski, the pastor of St. Matthew Parish in Norwalk, died Monday, Dec. 21, in Bridgeport, announced the Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. “It is with a deep sense of sadness and of profound loss that we announce the passing of Msgr. 10 Added To List Of Priests Credibly Accused Of Sexual Abuse In Bridgeport
Just as the Archdiocese of Bridgeport has agreed to pay more than $3.5 million to five people who claimed that they were sexually assaulted by priests, the Diocese on Friday, updated its lists of priests accused of sexual abuse by 10. Priest In Fairfield County Removed For Contact With Minors Policy Violation, Report Says
The Rev. Frank Gomez, the head of one of Fairfield County's largest Catholic parishes, has been removed from duty and sent for health treatment for violating the diocese’s policies involving contact with minors, according to the Connecticut Post. The Head of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Bridgeport since 2015, Gomez also serves as the Episcopal Master of Ceremonies/Secretary to the Bishop of Bridgeport.
