CT Man Arrested For Stealing $2,800 From Two Stores, Police Say A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly stealing some $2,800 in cash from two stores last year. James Hill, age 43, of West Haven, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 30 by Milford Police on two active warrants which took place in January and February of 2020, Milford Police said. Hill is accused of stealing over $1,300 from the Big Y at 105 Boston Post Road, in January 2020 and $1,500 from ShopRite, in February 2020, police said. He was charged with two counts of larceny and was released on a promise to appear ticket.

Man Accused Of Masturbating In Car At CT Supermarket Parking Lot A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly masturbating while sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of a Big Y store. Jeremy Persichilli, of Milford, was arrested on Wednesday, March 25, when Milford Police responded to the store at 150 Boston Post Road in Milford, for a report of public indecency, police said. When officers arrived on the scene they found Persichilli, who was accused of masturbating while sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot, police said.  He was arrested and charged with public indecency and released on a promise to appear ticket.

Customer Injured When Car Drives Through Front Of Area Big Y Supermarket, Police Say One person was injured after a car hit a Big Y supermarket in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Stratford around 11:56 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, when Stratford Police responded to the store on Hawley Lane to investigate a car that struck the building, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a car had driven through the front bay door and struck a customer, he said. The injured customer was transported to a local hospital with non- life-threatening injuries. The incident is still under investigation.

Two bills have been sent to the General Assembly’s Environmental Committee in Connecticut that would either ban or disincentive the use of such bags by charging a fee for each one used.
