Longtime Stamford Resident Suffers Serious Injuries In Accident Stamford Police have identified a woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit while crossing a downtown street, according to Stamford Police. Benita Muralles, 69, a long-time Stamford resident, is expected to undergo surgery for injuries she suffered after being hit around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, said Stamford Police Sgt. Andrew Gallagher.  According to police, Muralles, who is in intensive care, was crossing Grove Street at Main Street when she was hit by a 17-year-old Stamford resident driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro.
