Donkeys Found Roaming On Roadway In Northern Westchester
While most people may expect leprechauns to be roaming around during Saint Patrick's Day weekend, police in Northern Westchester instead found two lost donkeys that needed a ride home. The animals were found in Bedford during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 18, when officers on the midnight tour found them on Pound Ridge Road, according to the Bedford Police Department. Prison Nurse From CT Rapes Inmate, Police Say
A Connecticut man employed as a nurse at a New York prison is charged with raping an inmate, police say. The incident was originally reported by New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision officials at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Northern Westchester in September 2022, state police said. Hit-Run Crash: Suspect Nabbed After Police Cruiser Struck On I-684
A New York State Police vehicle was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while the trooper was stopped on I-684 helping another motorist in Northern Westchester. The incident took place in Bedford around 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26. Trooper AJ Hicks said the crash occurred while the trooper was stopped in the southbound lane of I-684 assisting another driver when a gold Lexus SUV struck the passenger side of the police cruiser. Three men are facing charges after allegedly leading police on a highway chase in a stolen vehicle through the region, authorities said. New York State Police troopers in Northern Westchester attempted to stop the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, as it drove on I-684 in the town of Bedford.
