Westport 18-Year-Old Charged With Driving Under Influence In NY
During a Halloween crackdown on impaired drivers, law enforcement agencies in Dutchess County arrested more than two dozen drivers for alleged DWI.
Between Thursday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 3, local, county and state police agencies teamed to increase DWI checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout Dutchess.
In total, 26 arrests were made, 25 of which were for impaired driving. The crackdown was the first of eight planned during the holiday season.

On July 27, State Police from Cortlandt arrested Carlos A. Mairena Martinez, 34, of Peekskill, for DWI. He was traveling on North Broad Street in Peekskill, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. New York State Police troopers were busy over Memorial Day Weekend, removing more than two dozen motorists for alleged impaired driving in the Hudson Valley.

On Saturday, May 25, State Police from Brewster arrested Lawrence C. Marquez, 27, of South Salem, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

IDs Released For Victims In Double-Fatal I-84 Crash
Two people who were killed in a single-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of I-84 during the morning commute have been identified.
The crash took place around 6:41 a.m., Friday, May 17, on westbound I-84, when a Dodge Journey left the roadway and entered the enter median and struck a tree, said New York State Police Spokesman Steven Nevel.
Killed in the crash were Heather Morgan, 36, and her passenger, Derick Jones, 37, both of Beacon.
State Police are still investigating the crash, Nevel said.

Double-Fatal I-84 Crash Victims ID'd

Two people who were killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-84 have been identified.
