At 07:20 a.m. Saturday, June 20, the Stamford 9-1-1 Dispatch Center received a call reporting that the house next door to the callers on Woodbine Road had exploded and was on fire.  The caller further reported that two people and multiple pets were in the house attempting to get out, the Stamford Fire Department said. Basement Fire Damages Long Ridge Home Residents in a Long Ridge home had to evacuate over the weekend when a fire broke out in a basement, sending smoke billowing through the house over the weekend. The Stamford Fire Department received a report at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, of dark black smoke that was spreading from the basement to the rest of the West Haviland Lane home. Crews from the Long Ridge Fire Company, Stamford and Turn of River Fire Departments responded to the home, with units arriving within 10 minutes of the initial report.
