Man Killed After Truck Strikes Car, Overturns Into Ditch On CT Road A 39-year-old man was killed after losing control of his truck on a Connecticut road and hitting another car before overturning into a ditch, police said.  The crash happened in New London County on Sunday, Dec. 10 just after 5 p.m., when a Dodge Ram driven by 39-year-old Matthew Babcock of Lisbon was traveling north around a curve in the area of 509 Route 164 in Preston, according to state police. Volunteer CT Firefighter Struck, Killed After Trunk-Or-Treat Event A 69-year-old volunteer Connecticut firefighter was killed when he was struck while crossing a dark roadway following a Halloween event. The incident took place in New London County at 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 29 on Route 354,  also known as Old Colchester Road, in the town of Salem. Second Arrest Made In Drug Overdose Death Of 1-Year-Old CT Girl A Connecticut man has been charged in connection with the death in February of a 1-year-old girl who died from an overdose of fentanyl and other drugs. New London County resident Travis J. Schubel, 38, of Salem was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 28, by Waterford police during a traffic stop, Connecticut State Police said. The child's mother, Ricki Thomas, age unknown, also of Salem was previously arrested on Thursday, Nov. 3, and is currently being held at the York Correctional Institution on a $2 million bond on a manslaughter charge.  The child died on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the couple's…

Websites Show Current Wait-Times To Take Covid-19 Tests In Connecticut Hartford HealthCare has two websites offering current wait-times for people seeking to take a COVID-19 test. The information comes at a time when long lines to get tested have been reported across Connecticut.  According to Hartford HealthCare's websites, on Thursday, around 1:30 p.m., nearly all of its testing sites had wait times of 1-2 hours or more.
