43-Year-Old Man Hit, Killed By Train In Deerfield A 43-year-old Western Massachusetts man was killed after he was struck by a train Thursday morning, Nov. 21, authorities said.  The unnamed Deerfield man was hit around 8 a.m. on the tracks on South Main Street near Thayer Road, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.  According to Amtrak, the Valley Flyer Train 471 was traveling from Greenfield to New Haven. CT Prison Guard Charged With Assaulting Elderly Inmate A Connecticut prison guard turned himself over to police earlier this week after authorities accused him of assaulting an elderly inmate earlier this year, police said.  Todd Blevons, 42, of Uncasville, was charged with assault in the third degree on an elderly person, Connecticut State Police said on Thursday, Nov. 21. Woman ID'd As Victim Hit, Killed In Weymouth Crash Police identified a 78-year-old woman as the victim in a pedestrian versus car crash in Weymouth earlier this week.  Harjit Thakral, of Weymouth, was hit by an SUV as she walked in the 300 block of Washington Street on Wednesday, Nov. 20, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office said.  Paramedics took Thakral to South Shore Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead at 1:40 p.m.  The SUV's driver remained at the scene and worked with investigators, the prosecutor's office said. No charges have been filed.  The crash remains under investigation.
