Ridgefield Teachers To Take On The Harlem Wizards

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Teachers from all of Ridgefield’s schools will be taking on the entertainment basketball team the Harlem Wizards Oct. 19.

The teachers have become known as Team RPS and its more than 40 members are looking forward to the Ridgefield Education Foundation fundraiser.

“We are extremely proud to be a part of this tremendous event in support of the Ridgefield Education Foundation,” said Scotts Ridge Middle School Principal Tim Salem. He said the district “is fortunate to have the foundation as an awesome resource to support our collective goals on behalf of students and staff. We are pleased to join in this community endeavor … it will be a lot of fun and will certainly bring a lot of laughs."

The foundation is a new districtwide organization that works to provide financial support for teachers and schools across the town.

The game will take place at 7 p.m. in the Ridgefield High School gym. Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults in advance. They can be purchased at INK Stationers, 109 Danbury Road, and Ridgefield Bicycle Company, 22 Catoonah St. Or mail a ticket request with a check made out to the Ridgefield Education Foundation, 70 Prospect St., Ridgefield 06877. Tickets also can be purchased online.
