The session, the first workshop on the topic, will take place at the East Ridge Middle School Auditorium. The meeting will be at the East Ridge Middle School auditorium.
There will be a presentation and a question and answer period with principals and with the school system's director of technology.
Beginning this month, all students at East Ridge Middle School and Scotts Ridge Middle School will receive a Chromebook as part of the initiative.
Students will use their assigned RPS device inside and outside of school to optimize learning through active, safe, responsible, and ethical engagement in research, communication, collaboration, creation, and education, the district said in a statement. In addition, they will have access to and feedback from their teachers and peers in real time, enhancing the learning experience even more.
Students will use an assigned RPS Chromebook and digital resources to
- Engage in learning through digital tools
- Research, create, produce, and share knowledge
- Increase personalized learning through process, product, and content
- Collaborate and communicate with others
- Increase access to 21st century skills and authentic learning experiences
- Organize assignments, notes, resources, assignments, etc. (Digital Planner)
- Learn and apply principles and concepts of Digital Citizenship
