RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A bomb threat written in one of the boys bathrooms at Ridgefield High School Tuesday is believed to be connected to the release of a video game.
Principal Stacey Gross sent a letter, published by Hamlet Hub, to parents saying it was not a “credible threat and no school or after school activities have been canceled.”
The threat reportedly was similar to others at the school over the past few years, each coinciding with the release of a popular video game. The game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" will be released Tuesday at midnight.
According to Gross's letter, Ridgefield Police came to the school and determined that the building was safe.
“It is unfortunate that this behavior occurred, but we felt it was important to thoroughly investigate the incident in order to better ensure the safety of our students and staff,” Gross wrote.
