The home was the inspiration for one of O'Neill's most famous plays, "Desire Under The Elms." The property has 16.35 acres and includes horseback riding trails.

The home consists of seven bedrooms, four full baths, three half baths, seven fireplaces and a 1,348-square-foot detached barn.

O'Neill lived from Oct. 16, 1888, to Nov. 27, 1953, according to Wikipedia. He won a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1936 and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1920.
