Soft Lockdown Lifted At Ridgefield Schools After Report Of Suspicious Man

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A soft lockdown was lifted at several schools in Ridgefield on Thursday after police investigated a report of a suspicious man who might have been holding a gun, according to NBC Connecticut.

Veterans Park Elementary School, Ridgefield Academy and St. Mary’s School were placed in a soft lockdown as a precaution after a 9:21 a.m. call reported a suspicious man near West Mountain and Ramapoo roads, NBC Connecticut said.

Officers checked the area but did not find anything, NBC Connecticut said.
