RIDGEFIELD, Conn. A 33-year-old Ridgefield man was arrested Monday after he allegedly drove through a turn on Farmingville Road at a dangerous speed and struck a tree, according to the Ridgefield Police.
Matthew Nilson's car caught fire, but Nilson suffered no injuries, police said. The crash occurred at the intersection of Farmingville and New roads.
The Ridgefield Fire Department was called to extinguish the flames.
Nilson was charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court.
