UPDATE: The operator of a pile driver escaped serious injury after the rig toppled with him inside across Hendricks Causeway in Ridgefield this afternoon, snapping at least one utility pole, downing lines and knocking out power in some areas.

Responders to the PSE&G substation included Ridgefield police, fire and EMS, along with a Bergen County Hazardous Materials Unit to address a reported 90-gallon fuel spill.

A car was damaged in the 3:20 p.m. crash.

The utility said 260 customers were temporarily without power.
