Josephine Altese, 85, Of Ridgefield, Seamstress, Homemaker

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Josephine Altese died Monday, Oct. 14. She was 85.

Altese was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Giovanni and Jenny (Canazzaro) Barresi. She attended Brooklyn schools and in earlier years was a seamstress. She was a homemaker. A resident of Ridgefield for the past three years, she resided in Boynton Beach for 28 years. Prior to Boynton Beach, she resided in New Jersey and Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a member of Founders Hall and a member of St. Mary Parish, Ridgefield.

Altese is survived by her son, Frank Altese (Martin Matkovich) of Ridgefield; daughters, Joy Lanza (Anthony) of Ocean Ridge, Fla., and Louise Cuvillas (George) of Rock Hill, N.Y.; sister, Ann Pascucci of Singer Island, Fla.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Joseph C. Altese.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Entombment will take place in the Boynton Beach Mausoleum, Boynton Beach, FL on Friday, Oct. 18.
