Frances E. Scott, 80, Former Ridgefield Resident, Korean Army Veteran

LAURENS, N.Y. - Frances E. Scott, of Laurens, N.Y., formerly of Ridgefield, died Saturday, Oct. 19. He was 80.

Scott was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Ridgefield, son of Thomas and Mildred (Northrop) Scott. He attended Ridgefield schools and graduated from Ridgefield High School. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he retired as a shipping clerk for Colin Campbell of Danbury and was employed in years past at the Village Market, Wilton. A resident of Laurens for the past 26 years, he was a 50 year member of the American Legion of Ridgefield and a member of the First Congregational Church.

Scott is survived by his wife, Jane (Williams) Scott; sons, David Scott, Steven Scott, Timothy Scott (Sally) and Mark Scott (Jannette); four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold Scott and Donald Scott; and sister, Beatrice Brown.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefdield. Funeral services will take place Friday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Habrick-Stowe, Senior Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield officiating. Burial will follow in Bald Hilll Cemetery, Wilton.
