Florence O’Keeffe, 83, Former Ridgefield Resident

MADISON, Conn. - Florence O'Keeffe of Madison died Wednesday, Oct. 2. She was 83.

O’Keeffe was born Sept. 5, 1930, in New York City, daughter of Florence and Henry Erklauer. Her family later moved to Ridgefield, where she graduated from Ridgefield High School. She attended St. Vincent's Nursing School receiving her RN degree and later was employed at St. Vincent's Hospital.

O’Keeffe is survived by her children, Kathleen of Annandale, N.J., Patrick of Madison, and Mary (O'Keeffe) Durosko (Philip) of Glastonbury; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James P. O'Keeffe; and siblings, William and Grace Erklauer.

Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 7 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at The Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, Madison. A private Mass will be held at a later date.
