Augusta Brusca, 95, Lifelong Ridgefield Resident

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Augusta (Frulla) Brusca of Ridgefield died Saturday, May 31. She was 95.

Brusca was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Ridgefield, the daughter of Alessandro and Rose (Catalano) Frulla. She attended Ridgefield schools and graduated from Ridgefield High School. She was employed as a secretary by Mutual Real Estate and National Semiconductor, both of Danbury.

A lifelong Ridgefield resident, she was a member of the Ridgefield Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Mary’s Parish and served four terms as president of the Italian American Ladies Mutual Aid Society. She was an election poll worker and a member of the O.W.L.S. senior citizen group.

Brusca is survived by her daughter, Bettie Anne Buzzi (Andrew Sr.) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sons, William A. Brusca (Teresa) of Foxboro, Mass., and Clayton Brusca Jr. (Frances) of Naples, Fla.; brother, Alexander Frulla (Shirley) of Ridgefield; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Armando Frulla; and sisters Mary Montesi, Elda Ruopp, Quinta Montesi and Pauline Moylan.

Calling hours are Wednesday, June 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 5, at St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah St., Ridgefield with the Rev. Peter A. Smolik, parochial vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
