Anthony O. Wilmot, 50, Former Ridgefield Resident, Baseball Coach

SHERMAN, Conn. - Anthony O. Wilmot of Sherman, formerly of Ridgefield died Tuesday, Feb. 18. He was 50.

Wilmot graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1986 and went on Texas Christian University, where he was a member of the baseball team. Wilmot owned a Ridgefield restaurant and also coached the baseball team at Ridgefield High School. He stepped down in 2012 after five seasons and posted a record of 70-42, and was a consistent contender in league and state tournaments.

Wilmot is survived by his wife, Kristina (Traynor) Wilmot.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield, at the direction of the family.
