The prayer service will be held in memory of Cathryn Depuy and Ryan Adams, who were killed in a plane crash near Colgate University on Sunday, as well as Ryan Meegan, who died Friday in a car accident near the University of Connecticut campus, and Michael Ventrella, the father of a Ridgefield High School student who died Sunday.

The prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Parish, 55 Catoonah St.

"It is with a heavy heart that we begin this week," Youth Minister Brenner LeCompte wrote in a post on the church's Facebook page. "So many lives have been changed forever in such a short span of time in our community. Many people are struggling to see how good can come out of such pain.

"It is in moments like this that we are reminded that Christ too suffered and died an untimely death that we may never again be afraid of death but that we may see it in a new life with Christ."

All are invited to take part in the service, particularly the youth of Ridgefield. The church's LifeTeen Core Team will be available for youth to talk to and pray with at the service. In light of the service and events this weekend, the church is also postponing its Edge Middle School Kick-Off until next week.
