Only 861 customers out of 1,240,246 total customers served by CL&P were out of power across Connecticut as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, down significantly from more than 43,000 Tuesday morning.
“Many large area outages have been restored, and crews are diligently working to restore all customers,” said Bill Quinlan, CL&P Senior Vice President of Emergency Preparedness. “In some areas, this effort requires that entire sections of the electric distribution system be rebuilt from scratch.”
“We greatly appreciate the dedication of the thousands of utility responders who came to assist in the massive restoration effort,” said Bill Quinlan, CL&P Senior Vice President of Emergency Preparedness. “Thanks to the team effort of these workers, the municipalities we serve, and many state agencies, we were able to achieve our goal of restoring power to the vast majority of customers by Monday or Tuesday. But our work won’t be done until every customer is restored.”
