Neighbors Report Two Bear Sightings In Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Two Ridgefield residents reported seeing bears in the area on Thursday, June 12, according to HamletHub.com. 

A 275-pound bear was tranquilized and brought down from a tree by state officials last year in Danbury. More bear sightings are being reported in Fairfield County.

Bear sightings are becoming more common around Fairfield County. 

According to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, five black bear sightings have been reported in Ridgefield in the past year.
