- Lindsey Rogers-Seitz of Ridgefield, whose son died after he was forgotten in a hot car in July, is pushing for car safety regulations and laws to prevent such deaths in the future.
- Ryan Cable, 28, of Rhode Island will serve four years in prison for fleeing the scene of a 2013 car accident that left a Jane Ryan of Ridgefield dead.
The Ridgefield High School boys team is ranked 15th in the country, according to a preseason ranking by MileSplit.com. Ridgefield High's cross country season begins Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Waveny Park in New Canaan.
Western Connecticut State University officially opened its new School of Visual and Performing Arts Center on the West Side campus in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $97 million building.
